Sermon from the Purple Planet

Good afternoon my children…let me welcome you to the purple planet…it is my great good fortune that you have come to share today with me…I have been asked many questions and I thought it would be a good time to talk…

I know money is beyond tight…I have been asked how I can stay so positive…I have had a hard life and even when I made good money, I raised so many children…I was always broke…children’s hospital bills and such have always held my credit down…so what is happening now is nothing I am not used to already…my heart goes out to those who have lost everything…they are not used to being poor…this is a new world to them…not one that is being handled well…IT WILL NOT LAST FOREVER…many hear those words, but do not understand them…they were not ready for the current situation to last this long…when it does come to an end…where do you want to be…I want to be better educated…I want to open a new health and care office…I would like to see my books at a selling point…to accomplish this I must stay focused…I do not have time for the energy that would be used by negative vibes…at times I hurt…I see many of my family and friends lose jobs, businesses, homes…I then stop and think about life…my own personal life has crashed in a major way about 12 times…each time I was left with nothing, but my family and friends and had to rebuild from the ground up…every time this happened, I became stronger…instead of wallowing in self pity, I picked myself up, dusted myself off and tried to make better choices…let me be clear…this was NEVER an easy process…I was never so stupid as to give away my family…during these times, I actually did what one person called ‘circling the wagons’…I pulled everyone closer…I made it into a time of unity and team work…this way I was never alone, they never had to worry and everyone was on the same page…do not be afraid of looking or sounding stupid…talk to those you love, be honest and have no fear…a loved one beats taking a psychotropic meds…they may not always say what you want to hear, but that is what being and having real friends is all about…I am blessed…I have many friends and a wonderful family…I am working on my degree (just made Dean’s list for the second time)…by moving my business home, I still have one…though it is slow…it is still going and growing…how great are my clients…I now have a publishing company and 2 books on the market…The Circle of Boudica assemblage has been a congregation of wonderful people…though I am not making much money, I am building a solid foundation for the future…It is a lot to be positive about…

I have been asked about how Walter and I resolve money issues…all money made goes into one account…on the wall hangs a calendar…EVERY bill or paycheck is on it…it is color coded…this way we can both see what is paid, what needs paid or how much money was made…he has taught me that marriage means equal partnership and responsibility…I made the calendar and keep it up to date…he never asked this of me…why would I do it…fair question…it used to upset me in prior relationships, that I would turn over all the money I made and never knew where it went…as long as the bills were paid I never really cared, it was just the point…I never wanted him to feel that way…though I basically handle the money, he has a say and knows what is going on…it does not matter who makes more when it all goes to the same place…it has never been his or mine…it is all ours…a different concept than most have…it works for us though

Children are really amazing creatures….it does not take much to make them happy…for those who can not give what they once gave their children…please stop beating yourself up and make better choices…money is tight…your child may have to go to public school…it will make a better adjustment if you do it before you put the home in jeopardy…I was told of some people not wanting their children to go to the local school because the school was crap…this may be true, but I ask, what are you willing to do to change it…I worked 2-3 jobs…the most important thing is to make sure my children are well educated…I brought in extra supplies…I would barter and beg to get anything the teacher might need in the class room…I checked homework…if the child was not holding up their side, I would raise hell…if it was the teacher, I would speak to them…I was never a jerk…probably because mom was a teacher for 35 years…if that did not get me anywhere, I would go to the principal…I only had to go to a superintendant once…because I would take time to go drop stuff off…the teacher felt support and the child was in a good environment to learn…I did get ticked off at a school once…while living in Clearwater, I did home school my twins…when I moved into Tampa, the twins knowledge was far ahead of children of the same age and they had to be put into gifted class…they may want $100 sneakers, but will be happy with kicks from Kmart…shopping at the thrift store does not make you a bad parent…for those who are sports junkies…my friends tell me now you can watch craigslist.org…if the stuff does not get mutilated, people post it…my friend in Maine thought her son was going to have to drop out of pee wee hockey because he had out grown the equipment and she could not afford new…she found a complete set up for him…best part was she got it free…mostly what they want is time with you…a card game (free) means as much as a trip to the movies ($50)…bowling ($25) beats the amusement park ($150)…if you are less stressed by the money you spend, then your company is more enjoyable

I think in about 3 years we will be okay…you see those in Washington are doing us no good and we all know it…when we have the ability to get rid of the current regime, I believe the American people will be better off…in the end…I think, WE, the American People need to grab our bootstraps and pull ourselves out of this…stop screaming at each other and take time to help each other…the next Thomas Edison walks among us now…I do not know who he or she is yet, but under pressure such as this real genius is born…how would I make changes…the healthcare bill needs to be fixed in favor of the patient…the FCC would have a TV moral code to enforce…that would include all cable TV…stop pushing drugs off all kinds on TV…Sunday blue laws should go back into effect…this would benefit both the worker, the worker’s family and the business…if you are on unemployment for more than 60 days you need to volunteer for a state or local agency…this benefits the worker and the state…no…I don’t have all the answers…just some really good ideas…yes, as a matter of fact, I have brought several up to state and local government…I was born Bostonian…Politics is in my blood…the Floridian in me states I should not find blame, only ways to fix the problem

My medical advice for today…if you want the most natural form of medicine…look for practitioners who believe in ‘Integrative Medicine’…these are people who have education in conventional and alternative medicine… why take pills if you can do something natural…why do something natural if you need a pill…Integrative Medicine can draw from both…this way the patient gets the most complete service…

May you be blessed to look inside and like the person you find…if you do not, work on the changes in your life to make it happen

Blessed Be,

D

Good Tired

Merry Meet,

It has been a hard week…glad you had time to chat me up…I have some ultra-chocolate supreme cake…want a piece…it is quite tasty and the best anti-depressant on the market…

Massage has been good…I love my clients and my job…Monday I worked with terminal patients…this is not easy…it is the best part of the job…for a few moments, you get to relieve pain and leave behind good/strong energy…I also work on the care giver as most of them usually get forgotten and need to recharge too…when getting my taxes ready for the accountant…I noted the amount I had done for free…these are just for those who could not afford…the grand total is 3 (average) a week x 52 weeks in a year @ about $30 per session = approx. $4700…double from last year…I have a policy…I will not let someone hurt over money…I have around 450 clients…when people had jobs they came to see me and had no problem paying me, Times were good…people do not have jobs/money right now, times are bad, I will not turn my back on them…they chose me as their healthcare provider…good times and bad we go through it together

In school I am in the last week of English Composition 2…it is a work HEAVY class…though I really feel like I have learned and accomplished a lot…Mr. Drinkall gave me much to ponder…the class was really interesting and my classmates made it fun…happy I took it on a bunch of levels

Chris has been of infinite help and patients this week…other than promotion of ‘Love is Like an Onion’ there has not been much accomplished at American Boudica…we did get the news that we have made it into the Ingram Catalog of Books for ‘Friends, Family and Funerals’ and ‘Love is Like an Onion’…I feel tickled that they thought that much of my writing…

Some days you the windshield…this week I was the bug…I woke to a blown heat pump…the stove caught fire…and the washer blew apart…I was ready to choke on life…the stove fairy waved his wand and sent me a new stove…the heat pump was fixable…thank god it was not that bad…I fixed the washer…to say the least I spent a few days on the angry little red planet…I am now back to planet earth…yes, I did spend time doing deep breathing and it does help…

In the Circle of Boudica this week….I have been exposed to many money issues this week on many different levels…I am 45 year old and barley make enough to survive…I know this is more than most so I give prayers of thanksgiving…when you have to sit and have conversations with people about money…it never goes well…one could in fact suffocate on the negative…or you can pick yourself up…do the best you can…be positive and keep trying…in my marriage, all of our money (what ever Walt and I make) belongs to the house…I keep I highlighted calendar of the bills and income hanging on the wall…we ride the waves together and hit the rocks together too…equal…a package deal…in other relationships that I have had in the past, it was not that way and usually caused the end of the relationship…another reminder…some words once spoken can not be taken back…this is a very important point to ponder

As many of you know, we have a new (and the last) addition to the family…His name is Chole Capone…he was born on 12/19/10…that makes dog #5…my limit…he is so sweet and Quintus loves him…did I mention, we have 2 baby sugar gliders…the cat keeps shaken his head at me…I have Chole in training so he is not allowed to visit yet…Quintus has been funny…very protective of Chole…the Chihuahua that needs to protect my Pit…to cute…Chewy Bitems is great with both pups…Draco and Shinara try to stay in the chairs out of reach…an hour in my house is better than any show on TV…I am blessed that they are all so sweet

Life is not all good all the time…when bad things happen…you can freak out…then do you deal with it or let it take you down…even if you deal with it, it may take you down anyway, but you did the best you could…and that does make a difference…you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again…make a new plan…do not be ashamed to ask others for help…yes, you may have to listen to a war story or an ass chewing, but help whether it be wisdom or a favor…be honest and try not to be too dramatic-they have 1000 people with the same story…what you have may not be much, but always seems more when you share…nothing…not even this economy…will last forever…when something gets you upset…ask yourself honestly in 5 years will it mean anything…if the answer is NO…forget it…if the answer is YES…then take time to figure out how to approach it in the best form possible…it is quite rare that anger will get you any where…while money has been tight I sit home…as you know…we play a lot of cards…I refuse to pay $50 to go to the movies (ticket, popcorn, drink and candy) for 2 people…not when I can watch it at home for $15…many people are feeling bad because ‘I can’t afford it’ are hard words to say…here in Florida life is hard…it will not last forever…if we help each other…at least we have each other…which in my opinion beast the hell out of going it alone

I have been asked about answers surrounding our government…I have several…I would rewrite the healthcare bill to benefit the patient instead of the insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and the AMA…I would tell everyone who is on unemployment over 60 days they have to volunteer 10 hours a week if they want that check…people will invent new companies to get back to work or the community gets work done to fill in for the many who had to be laid of…win/win for everyone…all welfare recipients should have to pee in a cup…I do not mind feeding a family in need, but I do have a problem buying food for someone to get drugs…this country is great and everything we need to make it better is right here…I wish our leaders would open their eyes to that fact

I love you all…please always remember…Tomorrow is another day;)

Blessed Be,

Dee Unplugged

Merry Meet,

I am so glad ya all had time to visit...have a coffee…so much has been happening…it’s a story to tell…you look well…I guess we all have gotten used to things being bad, the stress point has passed…I have made time for introspection as I have learned so much it takes time at my age to absorb it all;)

Massage is quite amazing…I have been so into the muscle…every client got at least 5 extra minutes…I really don’t think they minded though…to follow the contour of the muscle until its natural end is enthralling…the muscle never lies and always remembers…each is like a book written unto itself…at the moment, I am learning a thermal technique…it exposes the muscle in profile…how totally cool is that?

English Comp 2 is a work heavy class…My final paper will be on cancer…if you want a copy let me know…it will be in word format…I did papers on prayer in school and the death penalty this week…just so you know, I am for both…I agree with a moment of silence…this way every child can pray to their own God, but still share the bonding, calming moment…the death penalty…I disagree with the supreme court, I feel if you commit treason against this country or continually harm children…you need to meet Mr. Sparky (Florida’s name for our electric chair)…at present you can only get it for capitol murder…it is not my job to judge you, I am just allowing God to sort it out

American Boudica has been working slow, but well…the cold here in Florida has had me running…Chris has had great patience with me on this…we are starting to ready book 3 for the printer…the children’s book is coming on swimmingly…Book 4 is really fast becoming a masterpiece…

The Circle of Boudica has been counseling a lot of people…money has been a big issue…with so few having jobs, it is creating hardship everywhere…it has done my heart great joy to see so many that pitch in to help…I have been burning a white candle for hope and a blue one for spirit…

In the cold snap we got this week…my pipes burst and my central heat and air unit froze up…poor Walt came home from work to a cold house and no shower…our bank account is now stripped, but everything is now working again…Walter and dad fixed it all…glad I do not have to look at a service bill

My indoor plants will all be up potted today…the guava trees have held on so far…I have extra kitchen ivy…you can come by and pick some up…the mother plant is 26 years old today…I also need to clean up my lucky bamboo…I put my Christmas cactus outside to rejuvenate…

Everything in the yard is hibernating except the fish…they have slowed down a lot…during the winter I only put feed out if it goes above 65f…otherwise the only thing you do is fowl the water…the next warm day we have I will make some compost tea using pond water…it will give the fish fresh water and the plants macro nutrients…I have also been throwing out bird food at night…our birds are not used to the cold and need to eat for heat…

The gliders have been well…quiet due to the cold…they got a new wheel for Yule and have been quite happy with it…the dogs have been funny…the puppy has had them all on the run…he is very much the little tornado with teeth…it is quite sweet how they each take turns watching over him…Chewy is often tasked with the job…I don’t know what they will do when he is able to jump…lol…

Have you stopped to laugh at life…from where I sit; there is a lot to laugh at…I live in a state where the good old boys rein supreme…our current governor here in the great state of Florida looks like Skeletor and has about the same manners…

We have the wonderful sheriff of Polk County…Grady Judd…he aint no joke, but he does make me smile…I think quite highly of him….this is the man that when the newspaper asked him how come they shot a suspect 58 times, his honest answer was ‘because we ran out of ammunition.’…lesson learned, don’t shoot a cop in Polk county…he has now arrested some guy from Colorado…the man wrote a hideous book…I hate the thought of the book even being out there…it puzzles me how he is going to be able to take this to trial though…the constitution provides for freedom of speech and print….you have the right not to buy it…you have the right to protest it…but you do not have the right to arrest over it, unless you can prove it was used in process of a crime…if the guy gets off, he can sue…this is a time when the counties and state have NO money…I agree they guy is scum…it is my true hope Grady can pull this out…God loves fools, children, drunks and moral country boys…lol…

People often asked me about the wildlife in Florida. The day I moved down here this was the headline-

A plainclothes policeman followed a suspicious car moving erratically along U.S. 19 in Clearwater. What made it suspicious was that the car appeared to be driven by a 3 1/2 foot iguana. "He had his claws on top of the wheel," a police officer drily explained. "It's not every day you find a lizard driving a car." The officer called for backup and followed the car for two miles without incident - which is better than many warm-blooded drivers can do. After checking, the police found John Ruppell slumped low in the driver's seat beneath his pet iguana and charged him with drunken driving. The iguana, whose name was Finley, was taken to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Yes, here in Florida I learned to laugh…it is really a great state…down here we chase of armadillos instead of raccoons…I have been swimming with manatees and dolphins…the northerner in me is always watching for gators…the Indian lore is truly deep…I really do love this place

Well I hope you got a smile.

Blessed Be,

D

Let Me Put The Tea On

Come in…yes, you did wake me up…not to fret…it has been a busy week….let me put the tea on and we can chat…sorry I haven’t been around much…I am here now…

Massage has been interesting…not super busy, but a lot of 90 and 120 minutes massages…these are great to work on form and technique…I am now accepting new clients

The Chronicles of an American Boudica, Love is like an Onion has been getting great reviews…thank you for all the e-mail and phone calls…if you really like it can someone please post your review on Amazon…I love to hear about it, bur would like others to know what you think…we have started to get book 3 ready for the printer…the children’s book is going swimmingly…I can hardly wait to see Paggy as a plushy…Chris has made simple just fabulous…

School is another work heavy class…English Composition 2…can we say brain fry…I am getting a lot out of it…I hope to do a major paper on cancer for this class…if you have any advice or experience or links regarding this…I would love to hear from you…

As a High Priestess in the Circle…I have been dealing with quite a bit of brown dirty energy this week…many people are struggling at this point in time…reach out and give someone a hug…all of us need to hang on as best we can…light a candle and say a prayer…I have faith it will get better

Marriage has been a HUGE discussion point this week…Walter and I have been married for about 12 years…we have never had much money…it is a marriage based on equality…both our checks go into the bank to pay the bills…at times I have not worked and at times he has not worked…when this first started, we tore each other up…though the work situation was neither of our faults we blamed each other…nasty fights…mainly because there was not enough money to cover everything…it was crazy…a friend stopped me…to make the necessity bills…what could I do…I had to stop and think that I too was part of the problem….marriage is a 2 way street…I went home and asked Walter if he loved me…he said ‘yes’…we sat down and talked about the things that needed to change…this too was not easy…we work at it everyday…Yahtzee or a game of cards is usually a neutral situation and a good place to talk…I have had money and I have been without money…I would rather go through this with him than without him…from first hand experience…the grass is greener on the other side because its growing in shitty water…at least I am quite accustomed to the water my feet are in…do you know what I mean??? It is not always easy to stay…at times you must suck down a lot of pride…stop…do not just think of the right now…think of 5 years from now…since I have been married before, I must also say that if you know it is the best thing to do is end it…try to remain friends…the economy here in Florida is now well and I have had 6 friends this week tell me about divorces…I love my friends and stand behind them…my only hope is they do what is best and not just what is easy…

I have found a cool idea for a window garden when watch an old Martha Show…I am gathering the supplies now…check it out…outside it has been in the 60s and 70s all week, but I have a feeling we are going to get another cold shot so, I will wait to clean up the yard

Mom has been cleaning out the shed to make room for her quilting supplies…any true Longaberger junkie may want to contact her…she has many rare and collector baskets going up for sale to make room…

Passionflower Passiflora caeruela, Passiflora incarnata (Passionflower Family)
Relieves muscle tension and calms anxiety. It has a sedative and antispasmodic action, relaxing spasm and tension in the muscles, calming the nerves and reducing pain. It is also a useful herb for menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, headaches, and mood swings.

Try to smile at least once a day…its free and you may find it leads to more…keep in mind that so many are not doing well and show kindness to them…May you be so blessed

Much Love,

D

If she lived in Gotham City, Batman would be toast...

Merry Meet,

I am breaking into the New Year and thought I would be by to see how you are doing…it has been a wonderful holiday...the fireworks were amazing…so man friends and family…alas it is time to go back to work and I wanted a chance to chat with you before the tornado hits…

Massage, just for the health of it…they seem like such simple words…in the last year as a business owner (7 yrs) with healing hands, I have learned a lot…in this bad economy, people still need help…it is important to do what you can, when you can, but never to the point it puts you or your business in danger…knowledge is important…in medicine, things change everyday… just as important to learn is to share what you have learned…I am blessed with wonderful clients and take pride in each and every one…I will continue to respect their being and work with them to keep and maintain good health…I will also be there to help them through the bad…this will be a great New Year…on Friday 1/21/11, I will be doing Paraffin Massage…book soon as these appointments go quick for this…during my vacation I have been taking a class in wood therapy and will soon be offering it…this is great not only for weight loss, but also for muscle toning and strengthening…I have had it done by therapist Raquel Bray and she was my inspiration…I loved it and could really notice a difference…It is done in a lot of high end spas in South America…I will keep you posted about availability…

Education is important…I am still in school and working hard on my degree…I feel very thankful for such an awesome school (Everglades Univ.) and teachers…the students I attend with are wonderful…being so blessed really enhances the learning experience…I really feel I am getting more than just the education I am paying for…

American Boudica Publishing has now been up and running for 3 years…we have 2 books on the market and have released 2 power points…it has not been easy, but again I am blessed…our creative partnership is a truly beautiful thing…in this we hit the ground running as neither of us had been an author to start with…this to has required continual education…I was ever so excited to see the second book on the market…the feeling is almost as spiritual as giving birth…our spouses have been very supportive and it was not always a walk in the park for them, but their constant love got us to where we are…

In the garden over the last year, we have seen many changes…the cold snaps that are unusual for our area created some beautiful colors and caused a lot of dead loss…composting (even in winter) has been totally worth the time and effort…trimming in spring rather than fall seems to work better for the plants, but look worse for the yard…it also creates rich compost for the last week of summer…

The animals have had a good year…the arrival of the puppy was an unexpected blessing…the sad part was loosing a glider had me very upset…let me remind you all…animals take a lot of time and energy…if you do not have it…DO NOT GET ONE…they should have a home forever…not just for while it is convenient…pets are great…they give love…they also have a lot to teach us about life…

My family has had a good year…we are all still above ground and moving around…many have been the ups and downs and we have made it through it all…many of my children have returned to me…it is here where I have been really blessed…I am happy to be a grandma…I am so proud of how hard all my children are working…life is quite cool…

The Circle of Boudica has had a good starting year…it was a bit of a surprise and a big responsibility, but one I am glad I took on…it has been a long, hard year and many have needed our help…we have a congregation of 48 people in 8 countries…Chris has been a great Bard…it has warmed my heart to see how helpful they are for each other…my spirit has soared…

I am glad to hear you are ready for a great New Year…I wish for you to feel as blessed as I do…I promise to add more herbal remedies to the next blog for you;)

Blessed Be,

D

On My Soap Box

I have been all over this country (USA)…when I was a young woman, I grew up in MA…and like any ‘good girl’, New England was my playground…I then moved to TN…from there to Virginia beach…and now in Florida…each and every area that I have lived in has prized good morals and being a good sport…let me share with you some things I have learned

Lesson1…from a time that I was quite small, I was taught right from wrong…legal be dammed, if you did the right thing…in your heart any amount of time is not a sacrifice…you see when this life is over…I do not have to answer for what you did…only for what I did…If I do something wrong, I need to be honest and take my lumps…this is the philosophy I live by

Lesson 2…from the time I was born, I have been around animals and gardens…here is where I learned respect…not only for what was on my table, but also for life…you see, my animals do not belong to me, but I to them…

Lesson 3…it was put to me as a child that you never hurt anyone or anything for fun…people who did this were always looked down on and shunned

Lesson 4…it was unfair to allow others who were ignorant to be taken advantage of…be it animal or human…it was my duty to look after those who could not look after themselves…

Lesson 5…not everyone wins…this lesson is important…it teaches the winner to be humble and the loser to try harder…

Lesson 6…Win with grace and humility…walk with honor and pride

These are lessons of life, fair play and sportsmanship…I am writing this as I have seen some things that have my stomach turning…growing up in New England sports are a way of life…I swallowed the whole OJ murder trial (thankfully Nevada cleaned this mess up)…I do not think just because you know how to throw a ball that you should be allowed to get away with the crapp these guys are pulling…then came the idiot who thought dog fighting was so cool…many dogs are hurt or dead because of him…had you or I done this same crime, we would be behind bars for 20 years…he skated on the fact he could play ball with only 2 years…now not only do we the people of America and our children get this man rubbed in our face not only on the TV, but the internet too...now the president is going to speak up for him saying the man had done his time…could someone please tell Mr. Obama what dog fighting is…give him a video to watch…after watching sir, do you still think he did his time…he was given back a multimillion dollar contract by the NFL…kids took away the lesson that fighting dogs will not get you into too much trouble…I understood a cop looking the other way for a speeding ticket or a parking violation, but we are far from minor infractions…people tripping players from the side lines…lesson here kids, if you are losing it is okay to cheat…here in Tampa we pay for a stadium that the Buccs’ play in and most of the Buccaneers’ games have been blacked out from our TVs…because during a time in Florida’s lowest employment rate in history, we can not afford $25 a ticket (in the cheapest seats) and another $10 for parking to fill the stadium…can you say double dipping…please understand this is just the highlight reel…I guess the NFL has given up the morals and ethics clause in their contracts

I am quite tired of the bullshit they are trying to feed me…I will no longer buy tickets or t-shirts put out by the NFL…I will no longer watch games played by the NFL…nor will I spend any further time speaking of them…I can no longer support a national league who feels they are above the law and screwing people over is acceptable…I thank you for understanding my feelings…I will raise my grandchildren to play hockey, to swim, to play tennis…I will still watch the army/navy game, college and high school football…I am not nor will I ever be anti-sports…I have not seen such frightful behavior from other sports…I feel I have to stand up for what’s right…it may not be what is popular, but my conscience is clear…the children around me will not have to be exposed by such horrid people

Again, thank you for understanding

What did Santa bring you?

Merry Meet,

What did Santa bring you (other than me;)…it has been nice to have a few days off…pull up a chair…I will get the cocoa and you grab the Yahtzee game off the shelf…yes, it is Peter Gabriel on the cd player…

My haul for Christmas was great…Tristan gave me a car…mom got me shirts, Longaberger dishes, silverware, sox and bras…dad gave me money…Dansir got me a bottle of wine and York peppermint patties…the clients got me cookies and hockey tickets…my friends gave me candles for the massage room…dale played came over and played board games with me…I made out like a bandit

Walter made me breakfast…he gave me a pedicure…he made the holiday dinner…very cool

All of my clients got a gift this year…I won on a lotto ticket and was able to share the blessing with them…I was happy to be able to do it...

Chris and I have been enjoying our down time…family is the most important thing

In the Circle of Boudica…several people donated their time and money…we helped 15 families in 6 countries total...not only with the meal, but also presents for the kids…thank you for being so generous during such economic times…in our prayer group this week was people of many faiths…goes to show it is not important who you call God…the important part is to call…

The weather here for Christmas was a balmy 78f…today it hovered are 55f with rain...brrr…we needed the rain…maybe my lawn will come back…at the moment, it is the brownest it has been in 10 years…next week I will start to pull up all grass that has died so I do not have a thick thatch…

What lessons did I learn in 2010 you ask…be VERY careful of all the new electronic gadgets with a cameras or microphones…hold fast to your beliefs…when you second guess yourself you were usually right in the first place…I don’t have time to be on a one way street (yes, with this I mean relationships)…to laugh is better exercise than going to the gym…there is life after children…there are many more lessons, but it is late…

How was your Christmas…did you get everything you wanted…do you remember when I used to wake the kids around 4 in the morning…I would start making the Christmas calls as soon as the kids were done…lol…this year I did not make most calls till last night or today

It has been a year to remember…feeling safe now…I have refound many of my friends…I made the dean’s list…I made high priestess…my second book is now on the market…I have retained all my clients that are above ground…I helped clean up an oil spill…my parents are still with me…I have a great husband…good kids…I got a cool car….hmmmmm…I have received more than Warren Buffet owns…I feel very fortunate…

Pure Air Spritzer

1/2 tsp Bergamot Essential oil

1/2 tsp Eucalyptus Essential oil

1/2 tsp Lavender Essential oil

2oz pure distilled water

2oz vodka (acts as a preservative)

Put the essential oils in a 4 oz Spritzer bottle and fill with vodka and water. Shake and use as often as you like. You can vary the amounts of oils to get the right scent for you. These three essential oils are said to kill hundreds of airborne viruses and bacteria. Just spray your home, office, hospital room, class room etc and enjoy the difference.

I am glad you had a good holiday…I too am tired…thank you for stopping by…I enjoyed the game…may you be blessed

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Merry Meet,

How are you today? I am glad I had time to stop by…fresh mint tea is quite tasty, thank you…it is nice to come to visit you once in a while…stop worrying about how clean the house is and sit with me…

In massage I have been trying out some new moves this last month…the clients have been happy about it and they open up different parts of the body to my palpation…how the body works is SO COOL…each tiny knot can produce a chain reaction…the nerves are the body’s communication system…the circulatory and lymph systems are like a super highway around the body…the muscles (or as I call it meat) is where the horsepower is…the brain and the heart are both power plants of different sources (one electric and one hydro)…how neat is that…how they correspond and interact are astonishing…I LOVE my job…as I work with the body I get a sense of the story it holds, not what the client tells you, but what the body has to say…I have asked several clients about injuries and always hear ‘that happened 10 years ago, how did you know that’…the body records everything…the feel of the meat, the smell and tone of the skin, reaction or lack there of, the sound of the voice…all of these and more bring me to understand what should be normal and work with the client to get there…this is the week of the Yule Feast…I have gotten a present for every client that comes in this week…

Even though American Boudica Publishing is closed for the holiday, I have been doing a bit of writing and I got ‘The American Boudica’ fan page set up on facebook…book 3 has no name yet…I will give the Boudica fans a chance to have fun with us…Friends, Family and Funerals is the introduction to Boudica and her special gifts…Love is like an Onion is Boudica showing what she can do and how sexy the word mom can be…in book 3, Boudica forms bonds and does a bit of globe hopping…help us choose a title…please submit any titles to the fan page, Chris or myself…in the subject line put ‘Title’ and in the body I will need your idea for title, your name, your address (snail mail please) and phone number…The person who’s title we choose will not only see the Title in print, but also get a complete set of the Boudica series to date signed by both Chris and myself and a notation in the book

School is on Winter Break… Final grade posted, I got an A in English Composition 1…I have my books and started studying for the next class…

In the Circle we have had some interesting conversations…I see the energy for giving as being pink, purple and green…I don’t mean when you hand someone the obligatory gift card…I mean when you stop your day and do for someone for NO reason…weather you listen to an old mans story or take a car full of kids to a roller rink on a snowy day or pay the toll of the guy behind you…it is a piece of you that you have given them and you are the best gift ever;)

Many of you will be eating a good amount…give the digestive system some help…acidophilus can be found in the supplement section of most grocery stores…probiotics is the same thing only much more expensive…

Dad and mom have been out visiting…at home…dad has been busy revamping his flower boxes and mom has been quilting…we have been baking…I made cupcakes today…yes, my hips are growing just thinking about it;)…while cleaning out the flower boxes, a snake jumped out and tried to bite dad…I am not sure who was more surprised…the snake bite down on dad’s hook…dad slung him across the yard…it was a black racer, dad must have startled him as they do not usually attack people…the week long cold snap has turned everything brown…until the weather stabilizes I will not prune…though I really should dethatch the lawn

Laugh for no reason today…just because its something to do…come on…you know you want to…if nothing else, just look at the faces around you when you do it…they will laugh or look at you strangely…laughing is one of the best exercises that you can do…it releases some interesting hormones that do really groovy things for the body

I once was upset that I had no shoes, until I met the man that had no feet…remember to be thankful for what you have…any act of love is never really a sacrifice, it is a wonderful memory in the making…smile and remember you have love to give…look for it, share it and get ready for the best memories

Well my friends, it is time to go…thank you…I am glad we got this time to spend together…May you all be blessed

Have a Cup of Cocoa

How are you? You look wiped out…I know the holiday is coming, but you won’t enjoy it if you are exhausted or sick…come sit and have a cup of cocoa…

Massage is going well…This will be a busy week…my clients know this is the Feast of Yule…it started today and goes until Saturday…every client this week gets a present…my client today got $5 of his massage…he was quite happy to get an hour and 15 minutes for $25…I love this week…

American Boudica Publishing is on break until the 2nd of January…Everyone has been given the holiday off as this is a time of family…personally, I will be working on the website…the children’s book has been a fun project…the herbal remedy book is also coming along nicely….I will have time to sleep when I am dead…right now let me enjoy the work…You can always pick up of copies from Amazon.com or e-mail me and we will see about getting one to you…

Final grades have not posted, but I believe I got an A in English Composition 1…we are currently on winter break until the 2nd of January…my next class up is English Comp 2…I am really excited about this…I feel it has helped my writing a lot…someone pass me shades, the future is getting so bright I think I may need them…lol

The Circle of Boudica has had bright pink energy from all the love…17 children in 4 different countries will be getting packages for the holiday…thank you all so much, the toys and books will be cherished…it touches my heart to see how many know, it is better to give than receive…I have had to be hard with a few of my younger people lately…this is never easy…they know they are loved…at times we have to say things others do not want to hear…just as it is hard to hear, it is harder to say…I always try to surround the situation with love and give as much positive feedback as possible…I will be having a bon fire on New Years Eve…for those who wish to attend please let me know

For many years I was a single mom…this holiday season is much reminding me of that…I always took care of my parents and the kids…at times it was just the kids…I got some utility present from my parents (usually a bra, hair cut, undies), always needed…the kids would always get me something small…never the less, I always made sure the tree was full for them…I have always had a small fake tree (real ones are needed in the forest)…since I did not have to buy a tree, that was money I could spend on presents…I was more excited to see them open the gifts than to worry if I had any…at one time, I had no money for wrapping paper, so I used news paper…cool way to recycle…now I only use wrapping paper when someone gives me a roll…

I have been blessed this year…my daughter Tris has given me a car…I love my car…one of my clients gave me great hockey tickets…such a cool game…Walter actually had the night off, so we got to go together…YEA

Dad has taken time to revamp his flower boxes…he, mom and Walt have decorated the gate and porch…the pond fish have been going crazy with the weather…one day hot, the next freezing…I hope I do not lose any…

If you are suffering from hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), you may want to start adding kelp to your diet… kelp is a rich source of iodine and thyroxine.…also cabbage family of foods (broccoli, cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts, mustard greens), peaches and pears as they tend to suppress thyroid function.

May you remember it is not about the shopping, it is about the heart…

Blessed Be,

Every Picture Tells a Story

I have been having one of those weeks…wanting to scream is an understatement…okay let me fill you in…

The next 2 weeks for me, are the busiest of the year in my office…it is the holiday season…this means I am getting people of 40+ ready to act like they were 20 (at least while their family is here;)…appointments are getting juggled all over the place…schedule, we don’t need no stinking schedule…lol…did I mention the puppy caught a cold…just before every client yesterday he threw up…at least it smelled like bleach when anyone walked in the door…

Amazon has started this new author thing…just breathe…I am trying to upload the search inside the book and the kindle…they have made it such a pain in the rear and like so many things it was supposed to be much better…I called customer service…deep breath…they were supposed to have someone call me back from that department…I am still waiting for that call…I have gone back and tried to figure it out…in through the mouth, out through the nose…I have received several e-mails and have had to apply for several new passwords…okay I really need a cigarette…they want me to publish through them…not in this life time with what they are offering…I really miss my punching bag

School has a heavy week with 3 papers due and grammar assignments…not to mention this is the final week of Comp 1…I am swamped and I have a puppy that wants to play, the phone will not stop ringing, the sugar gliders are squawking, chewy bitems wants a treat…close my eyes…I am on an Island…the wind is blowing my hair…Sunday Starts Comp 2…

My Yule presents are bought…some are what people wanted and some are what I wanted people to have…I do not shop…each present has a lot of time put into it…I work for/trade for/make all gifts…I do this all year round…I had traded off 3 massages for a signed pic of Bob Dylan for my hubby…cash equivalent of about $125…it was in a cool frame with authentication paperwork…BTW…did I tell you I let Dale go home early last night and the puppy shredded it…when I came out of session, he was sitting behind the gate in a pile of paper…I wanted to cry…I started to laugh…not the fun kind…more like, There coming to take me away, ha ha, there coming to take me away, he he… to the funny farm…

It was so cold last night that all the dogs and the cat slept with me…more like on top of me…the puppy was laid across my chest…at 4 a.m. I was awoken to said puppy puking from my chest to my face…thank goddess I sleep with my mouth closed…I ran with him to the bathroom and cleaned us both up…he looked so cute…that is why the young are made cute…so we don’t kill them…lol…

With that being the start of my day…if I quite sarcastically say ‘it went great from there’…are you getting a picture…I had 8 appointments set for today and only 2 showed up…the other 6 rescheduled…the pup has not puked all day…what a blessing…he is back to being full of himself…chewy tackled him on the lawn…my white puppy was covered in dust and mud…deep breath…my washer has tripped the circuit breaker twice today…both times I was just completing an essay for class…had to retype the whole thing as I never save until I am done…feeling quite stupid…I am back to the island with a large cocktail in my hand…back I go to Amazon…getting nowhere fast with this author page thing…how many different sections of Amazon are there…

At this point I am sitting on the rings around Krylon…I have turned into the crazy animal lady…they are so spoiled;)…my hair isn’t on fire and I haven’t lost a limb…so I guess everything will be okay…only people with great character can laugh at themselves…lol…I will accomplish what I want with Amazon, everything good must be worked for…I am happy to have a schedule to juggle…Walter did not know of the picture so he will not miss it…there is always the back up gift of socks and underwear…not great, but practical…he appreciates that…I will work hard to get an A…again, nothing really good comes without working for it

Most of all I am thankful, to have this time above ground, to bitch about;)

D. Cooper-Rooney, LMT
