Good Morrow,
I have so many things that I want to speak about…thank you for letting me bend you ear…and no I do not mind if you pick this up and put it down a few times to digest some of its info contained…it is day 45 with no tobacco, could be a but longer...you know me Dale has it written somewhere
Massage has been well…I have been looking for ways to get new customers…if you have ideas (other than craigslist or the newspaper) please e-mail me…Florida is severely economically depressed…I have hopes it will change soon…our new governor, Rick Scott, is working very hard…I have to admit I watch this guy with a microscope (I do not trust him), I also have to admit he has been working to make the state better for everyone…though I do feel he should have done better for the teachers
It has been a proven fact that when money is spent on education in several cultures and societies around the world that crime rates drop and unemployment rates also drop…side note- the culture of the society grows too
In ‘Psychology’ class this week…I have been having a rough time…I do not expect to agree with everyone or have them agree with me all the time…really…what fun is there in life without a little spirited debate…as you know I have walked thru HELL…not proud of it, but it is what it is…many people get angry with me when they can not prove me wrong and get a little crazy…okay…lets understand each other…I am not omnipotent…I have done things wrong so many times and paid dearly…that I now know how to do it properly
As many of you know, I have bounced around and now have friends all over the world…my thoughts tend to run deep…I think of things…the wind that goes into Gahanna every year carries Malaria…Russian storms that effect the UK…how polluted the Ganges is by the time it dumps in the ocean…where in the world are they building new medical gadgets…many years ago I explained to my children that we would be at a global economy before my life is over…I often wonder where we, the United States, will end up in such a case…sadly I think not well unless we put more into education and ethics
In Boudica, we have just received our second installment of the Benuska book…really neat…Chris and I have been posting Mason...he is so cute…I am kind of jealous of Rose as she gets to play with him…being a pond away sux!!!!!
I bought the cheap blue hard plastic pools for the dogs…Chole loves it and like a child in the bath, I have to fight to get him out…just like people, please think of your animals in this extreme heat…I have several fans at floor level…keep the water bowl clean several times a day…keep floors swept and mopped as this will keep down bacteria and fleas…it will also be cooler for them…since I have a tile floor and a way to keep them in the kitchen, I also give them ice cubes…all except Blue love to eat watermelon…I might be the crazy dog lady but, if you are under rubble you pray they come get me
The Circle has been spinning…new births happening every few days…Maggie, Martha, Janet and Mason were all born this last week…we are fast coming to the Midsummer Celebration…what do you have planned? Alison's baby will be in shy town, maybe I will get to play with him...her ultrasound picture is so amazin...how far they have come fom those fuzzy black and white poloroid pics they gave me back in the day
The garden looks tired…the heat is kicking it in the ass…if you have a big freezer you may want to buy a few bags of ice…1-2 bag(s) of ice=1/4 acre grass…I do not recommend it for plants as it can put them in shock, but has been working great on the lawn…also beats huge water bill…I usually water around 8 pm…I mulch heavy at the end of spring…all of this help the garden and your pocketbook too…do not forget to get out there an compost
Did you laugh today…okay…picture a naked rock;)
Walter and I had a great time Kayking in and around Crystal River...I can not wait to take Chole...we had a great time...it was quite inexpensive...we rented from Crystal River Kayak...great people to deal with...it was clean and safe...
Healthcare is a subject near and dear to me…I work very hard to give EVERY client I have my best…I also believe some of the best answers are the simplest and one should start at the bottom and work their way to the top…it is my feeling that as a society, it is something we must fight for…we should not want to be continually be doped up (even if we are in pain)…I want to yell ‘IT IS OKAY TO BE WELL!!!’…it bothers me to see how many people are on what I would call useless prescriptions and their minor illness can be handled with food or some other more natural substance…do not misunderstand me, If I need a script, I will take it, but I prefer to try the least invasive and best acting treatment first…it is usually cheaper and better for the body…you are not being insulting to talk to your doctor…it is what they are there for…he or she should know and understand the food/herb/prescription/treatment that is prescribed to you…if not, I suggest you find one who does
For Boaters or people who live in the hot climate it is time to buy ‘Emetrol’. It works great for sun sick or sea sick. Walter who normally works 3rd shift thought to help me mow the lawn (takes 4 hours in the sun)….the next day he prayed to the porcelain Gods until I got him some, he was sooo sun sick. It is also great when kids get that summer flu. I always wondered why they don’t use this stuff on that ‘Deadliest Catch’ show to help them greenhorn folks…just a thought…anyway...works for chemo and aids patients too
So as you can see my mind goes on hundred directions at once…does it piss anyone else off that they have turned this lame child killer into a TV star…I understand she is Christian…can’t we just send her to meet St Peter early, because anyone who hurts children aint getting into heaven…at a time when teachers are being laid off, what up with this million dollar dog and pony show?
I guess I have been harping on education…my kids are grown and my grandchildren are well taken care of…so you wonder why…the kids in school today, 20 years from now will start running the place…it frightens me to think they will be dumber than a box of rocks…Dave has reminded me that schools must move forward…please help a teacher, a class, a school…money is cool, but time is better…nothing beats investing time in children...if all you can do is soup labels or those pencil point things please turn them into the front office at any school...Dale's neice gets mine for her class...I beg for every teacher in this country...they need help...1 good teacher at the start of life will keep several children out of trouble
May you all be blessed,
D

Oak Pollen and Puppy Poop...Happy Valentines Day
Good Day to You,
Here is a heat pack for your sinus…yes, it is oak pollen season here is beautiful Wesley Chapel…sorry I have not been around, but with my sinus so swollen the headache has kept me close to home…I have started training the puppies…
Massage has been shut down for the last 6 days….I will be back to work tomorrow…I am thankful for understanding clients
American Boudica has started print production of Book 3- Other Peoples Karma…Book 4 is currently in writing production…Chris and Rose will be naming Book 4…it will be cool to see what they come up with…
School is currently like nails on the chalkboard…I love math, but they don’t want the answer, they want the formula…with my head either pounding with pollen or Nyquil it is not going well…I may not get an A;(
In the Circle of Boudica we will soon be welcoming 3 babies…spring has started here in Florida and the Imbolc celebration was beautiful…I was given some beautiful pink and red candles…we had some left over and I burned them for Valentine’s Day…Ostara Feast starts March 19-21…The spring equinox will happen March 20th at 11:21 p.m. (eastern standard time)…I am starting to gather the items I will need…
The animals have all been suffering through the high pollen too…seems like the puppies go to the bathroom A WHOLE LOT…the 3 older dogs and the cat have been coughing…I got Walter a pooper scooper for Valentines present…lol…he actually liked the color of the set
The garden and lawn have started blooming…I was excited to see the Lily Bulbs pushing through…the lawn is getting the pretty spring green…the bird of paradise has started putting up green leafs…I will take pictures next week
Well I need to lay down as my head is pounding…one more stroll around the house with mop in one hand the toilet paper in the other…may you have a peaceful week…may cupid shower you with love…and most of all…may all your dogs go outside;)

Hooked on a Feeling
Pull up a chair…I know I look tired, but I feel good…I got your messages…this week has been running at a break neck pace…here, enjoy some pomegranate juice and I will fill you in…
Massage has been great…I have been helping new therapists start their own business and trading information with others…I love my old Dean Martin CD…it is a 72 minute run and every client this week has let me work through the whole thing…the energy has been great…
Chris and I will be ready to release a special project at the end of next week…He and Rose are getting ready to tape Chapter 2 of the ‘Family, Friends and Funerals’ book…I am awaiting the demo copy of book 2 (Chronicles of an American Boudica, Love is Like an Onion), as soon as I approve it they will release it…my fingers are crossed that it will be perfect...
School has been difficult…I thought I would breeze through the computer class…Thank Goddess for a great teacher…I learned many new tricks and programs…I have to admit it was NOT easy….the meltdown I had with the Excel program…learning excel sucks…knowing excel is very useful…then for my final tests, the computer kept kicking me off causing me to fail…the teacher let me take them from a different computer and I was back to passing…my streak of A is still happening…YEA!!!!! My new class is American literature. I am very excited as this will teach me many new writing skills.
This was a great week for the Circle of Boudica…the Induction Ceremony was beautiful…I was honored by the presence of Lady Sabrina…since it is a very private thing there is not much I can say…however, I would like to thank those who sent wood from all over the world…the fire sparkled and smelled beautiful…the moon was clear and bright and I felt like the Goddess hung it just for me…I had to pinch myself…I now hold the title of Lady Dorraine…I now have members to our community and this community’s Book of Mysteries has been started…the first priestess training class starts October 1…I will also be preparing the young mothers on how to make the Samhain holiday fun for the kids…Samhain will be our first full service around the bon fire…I am attempting to hook up the webcam for those in our community around the world to join us…for any information please contact our Bard, Mr. Bilton...
Today I turn 45…what a wonderful feeling…often times in my younger years, I did not think I would make it this far…it took many people working hard to get me here…I work hard everyday so all their work is not wasted and in hopes to make them proud that they gave someone a chance…life is good and I have been blessed…my birthday wish is for all of my friends and family to feel so blessed…
Recipe for Herbal Tincture
1. Chop the fresh or dried herb and place it in a sterilized mason jar. The more finely chopped the herb becomes the more easily the plant material will be extracted. Coffee grinders are ideal for grinding dried herbs into powder. Food processors and vitamix blenders are often used for chopping or grinding fresh herbs.
2. Determine the amount of alcohol to add by determining the weight of the plant material. Alcohol should be added at a 1:5 ratio for dried herbs and 1:2 ratio for fresh herbs. One ounce of dried plant material would require 5 ounces of alcohol. One ounce of fresh plant material would require 2 ounces of alcohol. Pour the alcohol into the jar covering the herb. Vodka is commonly used alcohol for making herbal tincture.
3. Seal the mason jar with a sterilized lid and place it in a cool dark place. Label the jar with the date of preparation and the herbal contents. Shake the herbal tincture each day for two weeks.
4. After two weeks, strain the plant material from the herbal tincture using cheesecloth. Herbal tinctures should always be stored in dark colored, glass bottles. A dropper is ideal, as it will allow the herbal tincture to be dispensed at specific ratios. Label the dropper bottle with the date and type of herbal tincture.
May your week be wonderful…please take time to let me know how you are all doing

I hope you all enjoyed the beautiful Harvest Moon

A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood

Welcome to my new blog home. It is raining here in The Chapel this afternoon. Many are complaining, not me...the heat of summer abates, it washes everything clean and I don't have to water the garden. Grab you a drink, sit down and let us chat about all that is going on...
Massage has been going well. The clients are doing well this summer. With so much time out of doors the aqua therapy has been working. I (and the clients who are doing it with me) am finding much more flexibility and my tone has really improved. I am still working my menu...I am now down 25 lbs, the clients have lost a combined total of 102lbs and we are all feeling great.
As a student, I am privileged...I have wonderful doctors and nurses to help me...I have clients who are willing to be test subjects...It helps that I am going to a great school. I feel very spoiled. At present, I am in herbology and botany. I really feel like the class expands the mind on how it all works. Week 1 was packed with work, herb table, herb paper and a quiz. I am now in week 2 and we need an herb recipe. Anyone got any ideas?
Chris and Rose are on vacation in The Isle of Man. We got the upload date from the printer and book 2 should be on the shelf by 8/15/10...YEA!!!! Many surprises come up in Boudica's life and now we will see them all play out.
I have been trying to work out all the ins and outs of government bidding. Right now the bonds are so high, I do not get how they think a small business can reach them. If anyone has bonding details they want to share, I am listening...
Mom has been in North Carolina visiting Tris. Dad is in Massachusetts visiting Tory. Dansir is getting ready to leave to New Hampshire helping a friend move. OMG...the property is quiet. The car and truck both broke down this week, but Harold saved the day. The 4th was quiet for us with everyone gone. Walter and I mowed the lawn, played Wii and enjoyed food. Dansir came by for dinner and we watched TV. When Dansir left we went to sleep, about 9p.m...About 3a.m. we woke up...Walter said "Want to put off those fireworks?", needless to say we were on the lawn at 3 in the morning putting off fireworks in our jammies...quite funny. He has been working all day putting my new office together. It is going to be so cool. I am quite excited.
The animals are doing well. I am looking for a home for 2 of the sugar gliders. It is time. Shinara is going through a phase where she thinks she is a little dog. She keeps trying to jump in my lap like Chewy Bitems. Walt bought the pond fish a new air pump. It was cool to see them flutter around the pond.
The garden is growing by leaps and bounds. I am getting ready to do a hard cut back. With dad being up north the weeds are growing faster than what I can pull them. When Happy gave me the crate myrtle, I made 10 clones from off shoots at its base. I am proud to say 6 are doing well and are ready to up pot. Dad's Topsy Turvy thing is still bearing fruit. It and the hanging baskets are loving all the rain. I am just not sure what to do with all these tomatoes.
May you all be Blessed,
Dorraine Cooper-Rooney, LMT
