Hypoglycemia

Merry Meet,

I was told that my body was fighting me 6 months ago…quitting smoking after over 20 years of hard addiction…losing weight…the tremendous amount of exercise I had started doing…the doctor told me I was not diabetic, but I did have hypoglycemia…really I paid no attention- he could have told me I had a sprained ankle…so much to do…I just kept going and added in meditation when I thought of it

About a month ago, I started having bad panic attacks and having a hard time speaking…I had no idea these were symptoms of this new calamity that had entered my life…I made an appointment with the doctor when I noticed how aggressive I had become…he sat me down to have a long chat with me…this was far more serious than I had originally thought

With yet another new menu plan…I started moving forward about a week ago…cigarettes will continue to be a thing of the past…I will continue to push my body…at this point I have lost 100 lbs…meditation is an everyday thing now…now I will also need to check my blood several times a day…Yuk

Your next question is about the paddle…it should not be…Janis, Marilyn, Steve, Chris and  Myself have been doing research…I can and will pull this off…we do need donations now:)

I am the Girly Pirate…The Lady Blue Horizon is ready to ride the waves…all gear is stowed…she and I are ready, willing and able…I am about to start 30 mile timed runs with and against the current…I found an awesome Landing flag from Amazon.com (this is also where Chewy’s life vest came from)…anyone who wants to paddle with me just give me a call…it would be great

Massage is going well…the clients are being supportive…they have seen my follow through…though they may think I am crazy, they know I will pull this off…we have such fun and many are finding information from everywhere…it has made time in the massage room fun and productive…I will be closed from 5/10- 8/15/12

American Boudica is being handled by Chris Bilton in my absence

School is going well…it is getting easier to concentrate and comprehend now that my blood is balancing…I was having a hard time

March 20th is almost here…I am so excited…what color candles will you burn…will you be watching the sky…I will be dancing by the Ostara fire…I am so excited

I am putting as much as possible in shut down mode so that Walter and Dale can hold the fort down while I am gone…I am glad that Janis is going…I feel by North Carolina, I will be passing exhaustion into ‘the state of robot’…she knows how to reach in that hermit shell and keep me going…if I need to slow down I will, but it is not my plan- it is my back up…if you would like to send a letter by kayak, I will carry 50 letters up…have your person meet me at the landing to pick it up…all of my internet friends are welcome to come…if you live near a Landing, please stop and say hello

I have heard every negative POS about this paddle…while some places have bent over backward to help…others…well we will just say they did not have time…I no longer have time for the negative nor will I make time for it…my focus is between school and the paddle…it does not mean I do not love or care about you- it does mean I will not get sucked into anyone’s vortex of crapp- I just do not have time

For those who have a free hand I could use some help…I will now get used to a new eating paradigm and continue to ready for the trip…continue to work on my bachelors…

May 15th is coming…where will you be???? I will be in a kayak to show the world that  women mean something and there is life after hell

 Blessed Be,

Girly Pirate in the House- Yule Tide Rollin

Merry Meet,

Here are your presents…it is just a few things I thought you would like…I know I have not decorated this Christmas- I am not Christian, nor was Jesus born in December but this holiday season has been called Christmas and should be left alone….politically correct is for stupid people who do not believe in tradition...

I thank you for asking about massage…the line of the body has me entranced and finding the plane of the muscle works the mind with the body…there has been so much chatter lately, that music has hardly been played…my clients have been doing well and it is great to see them enjoying so much motion...great energy

School has been hard work, but what a great class…Naturopathy is natural medicine…I want to be an ND…this is why I study so many hours…my grades have to be the best to get funding…I finished the class this week with an A…my next class starts Jan. 2

American Boudica has been quiet…the crone computer is at the doctor…I hope to see her at the start of February…Doctor Dave takes good care of her…Chris has been working with many different mediums- paint, digital, photo…really interesting things come from his mind…

The Circle has been a place of reflection and prayer this week…I wanted a quiet holiday so, I made sure all was wrapped up last week…I made sure in the Circle, parents have gifts to put under trees and food for the table…thank you for the donations…I will be having the holiday meal here…please call to let me know if you will attend (813)907-6279…I would love to hear your voice:)

The SunshinePaddle has been working me quite hard both mentally and physically…I went to Sarasota to pick up the Blue Horizon…strange how much I missed her…maybe like so many seamen before me, my boat has become a part of me… George at EconomyTackle is awesome…had her waiting at the beach for me…Lee and I rushed through the paperwork and he sent me to George at the beach…the Girly Pirate jumped in the Blue Horizon and off they went in the Gulf of Mexico…way too cool…just a happy Pirate…I must have been on Santa’s good list…I am excited to have so many people pitching in to help, it is a really positive charge…if you have equipment please call  (813)907-6279 or you can make a donation thru paypal

It has been unseasonably warm   this year…many blooms are still in production here…looking around there are bursts of color everywhere…I should be in pants by now, but I am still in shorts…hmmm…

I have something to work the mind- Who would you invite to dinner? Pick 3 people…alive or dead…if dinner was served and all you had to do is eat and converse, how would that conversation start?

Please make time to make at least 1 person smile- it would be better if you could make them laugh…just sayin…this will release hormones to help the body keep itself healthy…both theirs and yours…May your holiday be special

Blessed Be,
D

The Menu/ The Rules- I am 45 and in training

The Morning (4 a.m. - 11 a.m.)

No store bought eggs…only organic- this is not for nutrient factor, this is because I do not need extra hormones/shots that regular eggs carry- NO EXCEPTIONS…if I do not know if the egg is organic, I do not eat it

Oatmeal is my friend…Oat bread is not

ONLY whole grain breads- if I have bread…I miss pastry, but when my trip is done I can have doughnuts again;)

Raisin Bran, Total, Rice Krispies…I like all 3 and they are doing great things to help me get to the size I want…onto this I add one of my morning fruits (Banana, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry, sliced apple)

Every morning there needs to be 2 at least of fruit…to the above list, I also add water melon, oranges, grapefruit (ruby red), limes, Mott’s applesauce…I buy NO FRUIT OR VEGATABLE FROM OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY (as over ½ the nutrient gets lost in irradiation)...

I do not allow myself to garbage down food…I also use a ½ size bowl…I think Longaberger calls them ice cream bowls, my mom could tell you…I also only use a salad plate as opposed to a dinner plate…my limit is 1 salad plate no more than 2 inches piled on top

Working with the body clock, this is also when I eat fish (fried/broiled/baked)…on these mornings I often eat spinach…Uncle Bens Whole Grain Brown Rice is quite good…an orange goes well with this…chop a lime, a lemon and an orange over some lovely haddock, bake at 350 and you will have a dish full of energy…

A shot of Pomegranate juice- this needs to be organic or as fresh as possible (i.e. Pomm or Boathouse)…this will round out the morning nutrient level

The Mid Day (11 a.m. - 3p.m.)

This is the time to eat any large meal…have fun with it…I have been making 98% of the food in the house…my husband ends up taking a lunch box instead of fast food, so as a side effect of this trip he is getting fed better;)…remember when things used to be from scratch, in my house they are again…full turkey dinner, meatballs and pasta, twice baked ziti, beef wellington, etc…if there is going to be any processing down around here, it will be by me…lol

I try for 2-3 fruits and veggies in this time slot too…for a snack, I have been known to make myself a bowl of carrots or spinach or summer squash/zucchini…do not be afraid, eating food can be fun…

For those who are at work during this time…PLAN AHEAD…make a lunch box…and stuff that is really good (or that is going to smell good when heated) bring extra…it is amazing how many new friends you will make and how much money you will save…for those with kids, they will start being the coolest kids at school;)

I am not big on the sweet potato and I am allergic to peppers and mushrooms so I happen to be picky…I only allow 2 helpings of potatoes a week on my plate (fried/ mashed/ baked)…this one is killing me…I am a meat and potatoes kind of girl…it is my personal opinion that French fries go with everything…this trip will soon be over and I will soon be able to have them again;)

NO CANDY- my nephew James will sneek some contraband past the guard…lol…Dale caught him and gave me the lecture about how far behind one candy bar could put me;/

I have a lot of love and support…there have also been a ton of people to give me crapp…If I could live through a beating then, I can handle this now…what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger…

I use whole butter, milk, soda, etc…nothing diet…long story short, it is far better for and more acceptable to the body…just keep a close eye on the intake…spinach, kale, collards all have as much calcium as 1 glass of milk…

The Evening (4 p.m. - sleep)

This is more snack than meal…a bowl of fruit for in front of the TV…if I am having a sweet fit I might have a bowl of frosted flakes or a bowl of applesauce or VERY small dish of ice cream…

I do make my own ice cream and most of my own juices…if I process things myself I know what is in it and where it came from

Fruits and veggies…do they need to be organic??? Not always…as long as it was produced in this country, in an area NOT known for soil issues, it does not NEED to be organic in most cases…although better to buy from a stand or farmers market…best is when you can grow your own…if the fruit or veggie has a skin that can be washed and or peeled…the biggest part of the concern is over…if it has a fir or soft or edible outer skin, I would go with organic…your concern here is pesticides and your intake of them…it is my honest opinion that cancer rate is due more to this than cigarettes in this country

NO SOY OR SOY PRODUCTS (do my best, in too many foods to avoid completely)

Red meat is once or twice a week…the rest is chicken or fish…

½ cup nuts every third day…I crush them and use them in cooking…a good base set of nutrients…

Immune systems being what they are, I try to keep up at least 1 citrus fruit with each meal…Oranges are great, but do not forget there are limes, lemons, tangerines…again, have fun and try them all;)

Supplements, I take daily...1cc of sub-lingual B complex...1cc sub-lingual D complex...Alpha Lipoic Acid 100mg...Acidophilus...COQ10 200mg...no, I do not take a multi-V...with so many fruits and veggies it is not needed...I take fish oil 3 days a week...Vit. E only 1 day a week (Never take on the same day as fish oil)...

Once an hour I dance randomly or give a deep belly laugh...this does bring about some strange looks, but you will feel positive efect after 2 weeks;)

I am doing my best to be ready for my journey and all of the physical demands it will make on my body…sit and speak with your doctor…food is medicine and can be used to help you obtain your life goals better than any medication;)

Blessed Be,
D

Feeling the Burn

Hey Honey,

Grab you a soda and come join me…I am happy you made time to come and see me…I am sorry I have been so busy I have not had time to stop over…

Massage has been good…my clients so inspire me to be my best…I am thankful they are my blessing…I need to deep clean the massage room and ready it for the influx of positive energy at Mabon

In school I am in the chiropractic class…it is interesting;/

The Sunshine Paddle has had an interesting week…with Irene messing up the coast; I did only the office work that had to be done and headed for the beach…it went much better than I thought it would for time and distance…Yum Yum was like a wild horse…she did not want to track and I spent the first part of the trip getting use to it;)

Muscles burning, I felt as though I could conquer the world…until I saw my first shark fin come up out of the water…a little fright but, I pulled up my big girl panties and paddled on…I also saw some dolphins…the currents around the Smith Islands really worked my arms and shoulders…I have spotted 6 manatee so far…I try to keep markings in mind until I get a waterproof camera…

To answer a few questions…I have not seen any 3 headed anything yet…birds are beautiful and friendly…have not noted any slime on the water…I have been in the water from Crystal River down to Honeymoon Island...none of my pictures are doctored…I can not speak for the rest of the gulf, just the 50 mile stretch I use to train in…makes me proud to be Floridian;)

I am tired…I will be in this weekend doing paperwork…if you need me give me a call…I will post my menu as Promised this weekend...

Peace be with you,

D

Life is Good

Merry Meet,

How are you doing? I am feeling great…the energy around me is very positive…it is leaving me feeling charged with energy…

I have renewed my Massage License…any therapist in the state of Florida should be aware 8/31/11 is the last day for renewal…I know this is a difficult time, but if you can not afford to renew please do not practice without a license…a Massage License is a medical license and if we do not treat it with respect you can not expect anyone else to?

I have enjoyed my summer break from school, but look forward to starting my new class tomorrow…Introduction to Chiropractic…in other words Bone Cruncher 101…lol…I am sure it will be quite informative

American Boudica is still on hiatus as all hands are on deck for The Sunshine Paddle…yes, we will be writing a book on the experience when it is complete…Chris and I are keeping notes…I am dying to see his pics for this one…lol

In the Circle of Boudica, I am finding purple, yellow and brown candles for Mabon…9/22 is creeping up quickly…how cool is the Mabon feast…I am saving flower petals to take to the beach in harvest offering;)

I have been so into my Plumeria blooming…it has taken 3 years…it is Native to Hawaii and is the plant used in the making of the lei (flower necklace)…the blooms are spectacular and smell sweet

The Chihuahua Crew is attempting to run my house…it only works until Chole sits on one of them…it is more fun to watch them than TV;)...lol...Mom is in NC taking care of Tris for a while…Dad is getting ready to run to MA to help Tory…Dansir is doing the school and work thing…it is nice when all is quiet on the home front…

The Sunshine Paddle is something I am glad I chose to be a part of…the energy for this even is so positive, it almost feels catching…my husband got a catalog bonus from work and used it to get the 2 way radios and digital compass…oh how I miss the kids and their innate ability to tell me how all this stuff works…

My friend Cathy Stewart is loaning me her small kayak as a trainer…this saves me a lot of money…she says if I can learn to make this track she has no fear of my being able to make the trip…I named her ‘Yum Yum’ for her bright yellow color and what it does to sharks…lol

I have spent 3 days on the phone working to get all the logistics set…it is not as easy as you might think…I am excited about the girl scouts and the opportunity that has been offered to them for a day at the park…The parks in every state so far being so open and welcoming was a refreshing sense of community…it is hard work, but I am so happy to be a part of it…I will be on the water with Yum Yum tomorrow…

May you share in this wonderful energy and feel the warmth of community,

D

Education is an Understatement

At times I wish I could jump into the kayak and go…wait let me think about that, don’t want to hit shark season (Fall)…not wanting to quote Buffet, but I feel fins all around me…

I have had to write to several companies and people asking for donations or time…I can not accept help from anyone I find questionable…this means I had to do a ton of research on every company or person…

Monique asked why I had not spoken to the governor’s wife…I had never thought about him being married…I am outspoken and found so much about him questionable during his campaign, that I never once thought he may be married…I sat down with my feelings for him…I have to admit, I like what he has done since he has been in office…we have needed someone who cares for the state and her people…he has taken NO pay check and done his job well…though I do not like some of his choices, they did need to be made and I would not have liked anyone who made them…OMG…he is not as bad as I had thought…I am glad he is our governor…I looked up his wife and have to admit, I am impressed…he is lucky to have such a woman and Florida is lucky to have her as first lady…so I sent the e-mail…I also sent one to Martha Stewart…I do not use a form letter (though it may have been easier), I have been writing each letter individually…there is a lot of office work to doing charity…Chris and Monique have been helping me with the letters...none of us were sure what proper was so, again we did our best...

I completed the website…Chris is doing some clean up, but until we get closer to launch it is done…to me the respect we have shown to each area is quite wonderful…I love the reviews...Marion has been great about proofing it for me...

I am quite excited…my friend Cathy is going to lend me a kayak that she feels will be good for training...yum yum yellow, so I will learn to paddle fast;)…I am happy not to have to pay rental fees anymore…it is so exciting…though renting has taught me what I am looking for in a kayak…my friends and family want to make sure I can handle the voyage and are looking out for my safety…very cool

At the end of the day, I have touched lives in a positive way and have learned quite a bit…that means a great deal to me…all in all, I think for armatures, we are doing a good job putting this together…I am quite thankful for the help I have been receiving…this journey would not be possible alone…

Summer News

Merry Meet,

I am glad you stopped by tonight…I have so much news…I am so excited…life has turned again and in a good way

Massage has been inspiring…the clients have been great…everyone this week went over by at least 20 minutes…I do not charge extra when I get lost in the muscle and go over…so the clients were quite happy;)

In school, Algebra…well, it is my feeling God gave us algebra so we would learn to laugh at ourselves…I will be lucky to get a high C and will have worked very hard to earn it…I did a 5 page paper that was quite cute;)…I have inserted the abstract for your enjoyment…

‘Abstract- In this paper I intend to take the reader on a wandering trip through the ancient world and explore what we can clearly see today was the roots of math. It was done with a brain, no new age fancy instruments and yet angles, functions were done with such precision that they still stand today. Come climb aboard my magic leaf and we will explore it together…’

I am glad you are sitting down…I have spoke to the rest of the inner circle and now, we need to talk…on May 15, 2012 I will be starting a journey…I will travel from just north of Daytona Beach, FL and travel by kayak to Portland, Maine…it should take between 30-60 days…I have not lost my mind…I will have a gps and you will be able to track me…I have started to work with a trainer…she is excited and is thankfully not charging me…our goal is to raise money for Sunrise of Pasco Abused Women’s Shelter…yes, it is a bit to absorb...I would love to hear your thoughts...Chris and I have started planning...Rose and Walter have been keeping our feet on the ground;)…we will talk about it more in the next blog

Coop will be back on Sunday…Tris got a new dog…Maggie is a cocker spaniel…Walt is recovering well from his concussion…Dansir has been working quite a bit…it seems like everyone is on the move

With the recent amount of rain the gardens are looking beautiful…it does make me sad to walk out and see no pool…Walter has taken some beautiful cuttings for me…we are germinating date palms, pomegranates and the bird of paradise plants

The dogs have been sleeping in front of the fans in the heat;)…I heard from the woman who took the gliders, they just had babies again…the cat is shedding a ton

Well my friend it is time for me to go…I hope all is well in your world…I must go study for a test;)

May you be blessed,

D
